Physical disability

The vision we have of the person with physical disabilities has varied over the years; some years ago; we saw that people were relegated to their homes, unable to socialize, much less to have job options; this condition are improving daily, and governments are becoming more aware of implementing policies to make cities more friendly places to the person living with a disability. We found people with disabilities who occupy important positions in politics, prominent businessmen, musicians, athletes, artists, etc. ..

There are several reasons of physical disabilities: congenital, hereditary chromosomal, accidents or degenerative diseases, neuromuscular, or metabolic infectious among others.

Classification

Spinal cord injury

this kind of damage occurs in the spinal cord, and can be an illness or accident or any loss of function, in some movements and / or sensitivity. These losses are presented below where the injury occurred.

Types of core

Paraplegia: A complete injury in the dorsal area produces paralysis in the legs but does not affect the arms.

Multiple Sclerosis

Spina Bifida

Congenital malformation manifested by lack of closure or merger of one or more posterior arches of the spine, with or without exposure of the spinal cord, which occurs during the first month of pregnancy. There are three types: spina bifida , hiddig meningocele and myelomeningocele. Research indicates that a cause is lack of folic acid in the body of the mother.

Muscular Dystonia

It is a syndrome consisting of sustained muscle contractions over time. The most often cause twisting, repetitive movements and / or abnormal postures. These muscle disorders do not affect other brain functions, such as personality, memory, emotions, senses; intellect and sexual activities remain quite normal. There are various classifications of dystonia, which depend according to where they are located in the body: primary or idiopathic dystonia, secondary dystonia, generalized dystonia, focal dystonia, segmental dystonia and hemidystonia.
